On the second Thursday of July, the tiny Suffolk village of Friston holds its Classics on the Green event, which has gone from strength to strength over the last six years. All types of vehicle produced before 1970 are welcomed, there’s no entrance fee and it attracts several hundred cars, bikes, trucks and other vehicles. Tea and cake is served in the village hall and all the profits go towards the upkeep of the local church. A huge variety of machinery appears, seemingly from nowhere, and it’s a grand evening out. This is a little of what we found at this year’s show last Thursday.
